Before you read this you need to understand Craig Groeschel. He wrote this book with the same down to earth, straight to the point, and sometimes using cheesy jokes as he does in his sermons.I would move on if you are the stuck up Pharisees type church member that refuses to bend to contemporary styles of preaching and believes a man must be perfect to be called to lead a congregation. This book (IMO) deals with allot of the problems in today's society. It is not a "sexist" or "chauvinist" book by any means. It is just a book written for men by a man of God. It is a man's job to be the spiritual leader of his house. To keep it short. He follows biblical teachings and holds nothing back as he does in his sermons. This book is down to earth and written plainly for everyone. I would buy CS Lewis if you are looking for that type of writing.I am giving it 5 stars because I believe Pastor Craig is sincere in his calling and is truly doing God's will with his church.

This is a great book about the life of Ssmpson, challenging men to be all that God has created them to be. It is easy to read and broken up into 5 chapters with 7 short sections per week.

I have read this book twice and am now using it in an adult study. It does a great job at relating the story of Sampson to the life of the average man. I would have liked for it to be a little deeper spiritually, but that is ultimately my job. I would recommend this to a younger Christian who is starting to grow.

When I bought Fight, I knew it was a book written for men, but I purchased and read it anyway! Don’t pass this book up if you’re a man, but I would have to say the same for women! Keeping with the male focus, the book does identify specific struggles men encounter. Lust, entitlement and pride; Craig uses these encounters to empower, warn, and encourage men to fight for their faith and their families. Fight uses the story of Samson from the bible as a roadmap to guide us through our own strengths and weaknesses.I found myself identifying with some of the weaknesses of Samson. Predominantly the idea that once I have my mind made up, there is no going back. Why do we do this to ourselves? We don’t just all of a sudden sin. It is done in very small steps. Over time these steps will eventually end up at the desired location that the devil leads us to, unless we can identify where it leads and have the courage to stand up and Fight our own evil nature and turn around. Even when we do fall short, as with Samson, we find our way back to God and then how far his mercy and grace can transform us.I would purchase this book as a gift for young men that are going off to college or even men that are getting married. Great gift, great read.

A good book that hits home with every man taken from the life of Samson. I love how the author can take a story that happened thousands of years ago and relate it to today...times have changed but the principles remain the same...I highly recommend this book to every man

I was surprised that I enjoyed this book. It's written for men (not the content ladies, it's for you too), in that it's short bits that allows us some thinking time and napping time before the next section. It was applicable to the men I mentor and disciple (and me!) and the issues we all face and more importantly applied the scriptures of the story of Samson for real life use. I enjoyed the short format and the too the point writing.More on why I was surprised. When the book was given to me (by our mens group at church). It had two strikes against it; #1 The Title - which goes against the teaching of persevering and standing firm. Strike #2 - the author - popular new style writer. I know that sounds bad but I have been left wanting many times by some of the fluff that comes out by the most popular selling authors. Why waste your time digging for a couple of nuggets in fluff when you can have the whole treasure in the Word. I would rather see people reading the Life Application or Life Recovery Bibles in community than throwing dollars at hope books that provide a temporary high.I recommend this book in a small group study, even if that small group is you brother, with your wife.

Any man who is seeking God, struggling with their vices (sins), or just needs a refresher course in how to be the warrior that God intended you to be should read this book. The author utilizes the life of one of the most intriguing and interesting characters in the Bible: Samson. He draws parallels between the life of Samson and the life of ordinary men just like you and I. The book is interesting, entertaining, God-centered and will be a blessing to any man who reads it. For me personally, I found and read this book at just the right time in my life. I've been seeking God's purpose, fighting to turn away from my sins and praying continually for God to show me the path I should take. Through reading this book I've found a starting point and begun to develop the framework for my journey. Thank you Pastor Craig for writing this book. I'd also like to thank Faith Gateway [...] for the email that let me know about this book. God Bless

I really enjoyed reading this book and the Monday night Men's group discussion about this book. The stories are so real and fun to read and relate to. The author is a great encourager. Definitely recommend this one!
