The book is more like a travel-guide. It has information about Lloyd Wright's work and the location of the houses. I like it because of that, but you should know this before buying. If you're looking for a deep view into Lloyd Wright's work, this may not be for you (for example, it only has one pic-per house). However, it has a lot if interesting facts for each of the buildings, and is complete and easy to read. I liked it a lot, and gave it to my brother, who is an architecture student.
For a comprehensive guide to known, built Wright buildings, this book and Storrer's "Frank Lloyd Wright Companion" are really the only games in town. There will always be arguments over attribution of some of the designs in this type of guide but to my mind, Storrer gets the balnce more or less correct. However, with just a cursory reading, I did notice a few small errors (one example is on page 272 where Storrer states that the Paulson residence was destroyed by "a fire in 1942;" this house was destroyed by fire in the spring of 1943). When I see these errors in any book, however minor, I always wonder how many more there are. That having been said, this book is superior in presentation to the previous editions that I seen. Definitely recommended.
A very useful guide to Wright buildings. Good photography and descriptions if you're looking for a quick reference, especially to find those which are open to the public.
Great reference manual to Wright's numerous residential, commercial, and institutional works. Not a novel, just a reference manual.
If you're a FLW enthusiast like me, this is a great guide and complete history of his work. If you're looking for lots of details, this isn't the book you want. But if you want a complete catalog of his work, this is excellent!
It's nice to have a complete list of Mr. Wright's work.
