Steph Young is an independent researcher of all things Supernatural, Paranormal, Esoteric and enigmatic unexplained mysteries. Each book she writes seems to lead her to further searches for answers as the mysteries deepen and develop into more complex riddles of the unknown. She covers true stories of the strange, mysterious, and frightening.. The monstrous creatures are related to our darkest history, mythology and Lore. She relates true life and scary stories which expose our darkest, deepest fears and tragic ends, mainly happenings in the USA, the greater Manchester and the Peak District National Park, in Derbyshire, England.Scotland, wooded valley. set in remote, rugged lands, Australia and more.Apparitions of strange phenomena, including unexplained lights. Mountain rescue teams are searching for a man who disappeared from Fort William to Tillicoultry,’ wrote the Scottish Newspapers in September 2017.Steph has been a guest on the National Radio show 'Coast to Coast AM,' as well as other radio shows and YouTube channels including being a regular guest on podcasts.Steph Young's presentations are current and historic, details as presented through ages, some updated in the form of news reports. Her writing style resembles that of a crime news paper and a law inforcement report. There is some forensic analysis and the crime investigations are described in an interesting narrative.Normally as a reader you can go through an investigation and eliminate certain scenarios, with the questions and answers posed by the author. Some cases are settled and others not.Are there underground bases that potentially existing? Are there intriguing possibilities to explain the cause of the missing, the abducted, the drowned and the dead?.There are many quotations presented by the author as the following:"It is necessary to defeat the aliens in the supernatural realm, empowered by sorcery; in this war, the Chaplain is of greater value than the General, as the aliens attack via advanced sorcery,’ well, a couple of years ago, a lady called Coral Hull contacted me. She told me she had read my ‘In the Woods’ books and ‘Dead in the Water,’ and she felt that she could offer some explanations about what might be happening to the people who go missing and why......."Sinister disappearances keep you in suspense. The disappearance of the Jamison family of Oklahoma in October 2009, is a mystery which seemingly involves zombie-like trances, witches.’ The author questions all things that appear to happen to those who vanish under inexplicable circumstances in the woods and forests, and how easily there could be an other-worldly group of perpetrators from the ‘spirit’ world doing this. The author is connected to organizations like the British UFO Association for advice and discussion. Radio and other news communitiesChapter Nine is titled :Fallen Angels, the Dragon & The Missing. Also covered are obsessions with witchcraft, death, demons and spirits, and beliefs that victims were killed by a religious cult, possibly satanic rituals and supernatural intrusions. The author says:"I have been collecting accounts of what seem to be sightings of an ‘Invisible Predator’ which at times seems entirely naked to the eyes and at other times appears as shimmers like ripples, and most who have seen it can think of nothing else to compare it to other than the entity in the ‘Predator’ movie......Many people over the years have since contacted me to relate their terrible fear upon seeing this nebulous horrifying entity that never fully shows itself but strikes terror into the heart of those who encounter it. Is this entity a Fallen Angel, not fully manifest…?"In the book we find examples of the author's cooperation and influence to solve mysteries. What stands out is the lack of coordination in the presentation of the written word. There are grammatical weaknesses. Further editorial excercise is necessary to lift the standard of presentation.

Vanished in the woods is a compilation of astounding –yet 100%- stories about people who have disappeared in the woods with no logical explanation. The author suggests the possibility of a supernatural cause such as abduction and the involvement of UFO’s or Extraterrestrials. While the stories are immensely interesting to the point of being eerie, I was distracted and bothered by the lack of editing. The book is filled with grammar and the most basic punctuation mistakes (single, double and triple quotation marks in the same paragraph?), repeated sentences and contradictions (in one part it says that the missing person weighed something and in the next page something different.) While these mistakes are not relevant or do not change the course of the stories, it was disappointing to encounter them that often. Great idea, great research… poor editing.

First, I agree that Steph Young needs an editor. However, the grammatical errors do not detract at all from the interesting cases she describes in this and other books. If you’re wanting to read literature, this isn’t it. If you want short descriptions of unexplained mysteries, you won’t be disappointed. Not only does Young give a great summary of what occurred, including firsthand accounts from the victims and witnesses, but she also gives a balanced view of the possible explanations for what happened.Personally, I like reading these stories when I have a few minutes to spare. One story only takes a couple of minutes to read with nothing to do with the next story, so you can digest it as its own case and have something to ponder as you go about the rest of your day.If these strange occurrences tickle your imagination, give Steph Young a try.

“Vanished in the Woods” is a book written by Steph Young. The cover of the book called my attention and I wanted to read it because I was curious. The content of the book blew my mind away. I loved it. It is super interesting and the stories are fascinating, although not recommended for a bed time read haha. The mysterious tellings it has were very good written and the stories itself surprised me.The book is quite short so I read it in a couple of sittings. Once I started reading I couldn’t stop and once I finished it I really wanted to read more of those cases. I liked Young’s writing style and the respect with which she wrote the book. Although I read any type of reviews about this book I would give it five stars because I was fascinated by it and I will definitely recommend reading it.

Steph Young’s “Vanished in the Woods” compiles some creepy disappearances. In one instance, a young man is lost on a small island for 40 days. The search for him was extensive, but yet they never found him on the island, despite his reappearance later on. Another story tells of a young boy who goes missing but is never found. The stories themselves are quite compelling, and Young does a decent job of spinning this tales. But there’s a lack of editing and flow that makes the narrative somewhat jarring. Although I really enjoyed the stories, I felt that some minor editing in terms of punctuation, grammar, and typos would have enhanced the book further. Some of the stories felt disjointed, with no real narrative additions. Not a bad read, just some minor editing could have made it better.
